Basic strokes of Alphabet: The development of writing is a critical element in the child's education. Forming letters is a mechanical act whereas writing is an important means of Self-expression . It is instrumental in the development of thinking and Learning, as it is the convergence of thought and languages. Most important is pre-writing or writing readiness i.e. the child should not be forced to write till ready .This can be judged by the development of prerequisite skills for writing e.g ? small muscle development ? eye-hand coordination ? holding a writing tool once this has been achieved a child can move gradually to formation of strokes, patterns ,letters .numbers and words. The usage of this book should follow only after the child has had adequate practice In: ? Scribbling ? Filling colour in confined spaces .narrowing the space gradually. ? strokes and patterns. Variety and balance provide a more likely interest base and are also in keeping with research findings. Remember, all writing instruments must be long enough .thick enough and responsive enough to enable children to use them easily .The word PENCIL is used in this book for convenience but refers to anything the child may use for writing.
